Gainsborough Waste and Texas Outhouse were proud of our team effort supporting the 2019 Stock Grill Challenge on Saturday, November 9 at Lime Instruments in West Houston.
For the fourth consecutive year, our company sponsored the Stock Grill Challenge. This year, we provided two portable toilets and four cardboard event trash boxes for the duration of the event.
What is the Stock Grill Challenge?
It’s better to smell the Stock Grill Challenge than to describe it. This annual BBQ cook-off fundraiser brings together some of the best BBQ’ers in Texas to compete in a cook-off that raises money for MD Anderson cancer research.
This year’s BBQ cook-off included ribs, chicken, brisket, pulled pork sliders, a whole roast pig, and jalapeno slaw to cap off the food available for judging and eating.
All contestants were given equal access to grilling equipment and Weber Grills to compete on an even playing field.
There’s just nothing quite like a quality, high-end Texas BBQ cookoff raising money for a good cause on a Saturday afternoon.
Why Do We Support the Stock Grill Challenge?
Our company believes in the mission of the Stock Grill Challenge to support the advancement of cancer research.
This year, the focus of the challenge was to raise money specifically for an immunotherapy trial at MD Anderson for colon cancer. MD Anderson hopes that additional funding will help find a cure, just like their research for metastatic melanoma.
