WHAT IS A ROLL-OFF DUMPSTER?
A roll-off dumpster is a mobile waste container that allows users and teams to place waste in a designated location. We rent these types of dumpsters to a customer’s location that allows you or your team to remove and store waste during a project, job or event. Then, we return to your location to remove the waste once the roll-off dumpster is at capacity or we remove the dumpster from your location once the project, job, or event is complete.
WHY SHOULD I RENT A ROLL-OFF DUMPSTER?
Roll-off dumpsters can be rented for a variety of commercial, business, and individual purposes. Dumpsters help keep waste under control by creating a designated location to remove and contain waste at a property, place of business, construction site, project or job, residential area, or special event. This provides you, your team, or other workers with a clear understanding of where waste should be disposed. Roll-off dumpsters can be used for:
- Construction use: residential and business construction, contract jobs, and more.
- Business use: tree trimming, landscaping, and related purposes.
- Individual use: home remodel, home repair project, attic/garage cleanout, and DIY.
- Events: managing waste during set-up, ongoing, and teardown.

HOW MANY ROLL-OFF DUMPSTERS DO I NEED?
Each project or need is different. For residential projects, you may only need one roll-off dumpster to handle the amount of waste that is expected to be produced at your location. For medium-to-large projects, jobs, and events, you may need to rent multiple roll-off dumpsters to contain the waste that is expected to be produced. Additionally, you may also consider renting multiple roll-off dumpsters if there is a wide area to cover at the location, creating multiple points for waste to be contained.
WHERE ARE THE ROLL-OFF DUMPSTERS PLACED?
We will work with you or your team to place the roll-off dumpster(s) in an appropriate location at your site, location, or event. We will survey the space and determine the ideal location to help you or your team dispose of waste without creating issues. Our goal is to create convenient access for you, your team, or additional workers without compromising safety or creating roadblocks.
We will continue to work with you throughout the duration of the project, job, or event to move the roll-off dumpsters to an appropriate location. We recommend that you or your team never move the roll-off dumpsters on your own. Please contact us to request the roll-off dumpsters be relocated. Also, our trucks must be able to access the roll-off dumpsters in order to service the units on the set schedule.
WHAT WASTE CANNOT BE PLACED IN A ROLL-OFF DUMPSTER?
We accept general construction and demolition waste, garage/attic junk waste, tree/yard waste, scrap metal, wood, cardboard (OCC), and concrete waste.
However, you cannot place hazardous waste, PCB (Polychlorinated Biphenyls) waste, common household waste, certain types of construction waste, or Class 1 & 2 non-hazardous industrial waste in a roll-off dumpster. We specifically do not accept:
- Pesticide containers
- Material containing asbestos
- Incinerator ash
- Contaminated soil
- Radioactive waste
- Unknown chemicals
- Used tires
- Lead acid batteries
- Used oil
- Household garbage
- Putrescible waste
- Septic tank pumpings
- Refrigerant-containing appliances
- Grease and grit trap wastes
- Animal-related waste
- Liquid wastes
- Special wastes

Once roll-off dumpster units are delivered to your location, we continue to service the dumpsters on your schedule. We will help keep waste under control to support prolonged use at your location or event. We then remove the roll-off dumpsters at the desired time.
WHAT SAFETY MEASURES DOES GAINSBOROUGH WASTE TAKE?
Safety is of utmost importance to our company. Our teams meet daily to discuss Safety Procedures, we apply our safety commitment at each location, and we hold ourselves accountable for creating a safe environment. When we deliver roll-off dumpsters to your site, job, or event, we will work with your team to ensure safe placement and usage. Our team will wear appropriate PPE equipment and follow safety protocols while on-site.

WHAT HAPPENS IF A UNIT IS DAMAGED AT MY LOCATION?
Damage rarely occurs because of our safety protocols. However, our standard rental agreement includes provisions to protect both you, as the rentee, and Gainsborough Waste as the rentor, in the event of damage to the unit. We also offer a damage waiver program to protect you in the event of a unit being damaged due to unforeseen circumstances (e.g. vandalism, theft, or accidents). When scheduling a rental, talk to our customer service team or your sales representative about the cost of coverage.
HOW FAR IN ADVANCE DO I NEED TO SCHEDULE SERVICE?
We lead the industry in one-day turnaround renting roll-off dumpsters for standard requests. If you call during normal business hours, we will be able to quickly schedule delivery to your location by the next day. We will also honor after-hours requests in a timely manner.
For larger needs, such as a largescale construction project, we recommend talking to our expert Sales team to identify the right solution that fits your needs.
